I have no doubt that racism is alive and well in this country. No one liked what Jimmy Carter had to say about racism and Obama but unfortunately I agree with him.
And yes, won't it be wonderful when gay marriage is a recognized and legal right as well. Painfully slow progress I know - after all, aren't we supposed to be an enlightened, civilized society? I can only hope that those who elected President Obama, can help him realize his vision of equality in this country.
